OSLANDS

Where the data comes from

  • Plot traits (category, environment, sediment, resources, artifact, Koda, obelisk piece): the public metadata of every Otherdeed.
  • Listings, sales, offers and the floor price: OpenSea, refreshed every few minutes. OSLands never sells or buys anything: buying always happens on OpenSea.
  • Who owns a plot: the public blockchain.

Rarity score, rank and “top %”

Each trait value carries information: the fewer plots share it, the more it adds. For every trait of a plot we take -log₂(share of plots with that value) and add them up. The sum is the plot’s rarity score.

  • Traits counted: category, environment and its tier, sediment and its tier, the four resources and their tiers, artifact, Koda and obelisk piece.
  • A missing value (for example “no artifact” or “no Koda”) counts like any other value: being without it is common, so it adds little.
  • Rank 1 is the rarest of the 100,000 plots. “Top 32 %” means the plot is rarer than the other 68 % (rank ÷ total).
  • The ranks are recomputed whenever the plot metadata changes.

This is the idea behind OpenRarity. It measures scarcity of traits, not how much the community likes them.

Estimated (“fair”) value

OpenSea shows prices, not a fair value, so OSLands estimates it from real sales. The method, step by step:

  1. Take the sales of the last year. Express each as a multiple of the floor at the time of the sale(price ÷ floor). This makes sales from different periods comparable. The historical floor is the 10th percentile of sale prices around that date.
  2. Fit a small statistical model (ridge regression on the logarithm of that multiple) over the traits that drive price: rarity class (top 1 %, 1–5 %, 5–15 %, 15–40 %), environment tier, sediment tier, rarest resource, Koda and artifact.
  3. Recent sales count more: a sale’s weight halves every 45 days. Extreme multiples (wash trades, fat-finger prices) are clipped, and the regularisation keeps traits with few sales close to “no premium”.
  4. Estimate = current floor × the model’s multiple for that plot (never below 0.9 × floor). An Otherdeed Expanded is compared with the Expanded floor.
  5. With fewer than 30 usable sales the site shows no estimates at all.
  6. The estimates are recalculated when new sales arrive, and at least every 30 minutes as the floor moves.

Confidence

Next to each estimate you see how much evidence stands behind it:

  • High: many comparable sales (12 or more plots of the same rarity class and environment tier sold).
  • Medium: some comparable sales (4 or more).
  • Low: few or none; the value is extrapolated from other traits. The rarest plots usually land here because so few of them sell.

Deals below value

  • Below est. value: a plot listed for less than its estimate (only where confidence is at least medium).
  • Deal of the day: among plots listed in the last 24 hours at least 5 % under their estimate, the one with the lowest price ÷ estimate ratio.
  • Pro alerts, “listed below an open bid”: a plot for sale for less than a live bid on it. It is sent only when buying and accepting the bid would pay at least 0.005 ETH and 3 % after OpenSea and creator fees, with the bid re-checked on OpenSea and the bidder’s WETH on-chain.

A deal is a hint, not a guarantee: the estimate can be wrong, listings can be withdrawn and offers can expire.

What the numbers cannot tell you

  • The model only sees traits and past sales. It does not know about community taste, upcoming game changes or off-market deals.
  • Unique and very rare plots have few comparable sales, so their estimates are wide. Look at the confidence label.
  • The Otherside market is small; one large sale can move the numbers.
  • Estimates are for orientation only. They are not financial advice and OSLands is not affiliated with Yuga Labs.

The map

  • Glowing plots belong to owners who signed in to OSLands. The glow never reveals anything that is not already public on-chain.
  • Colours follow the “Color by” mode you choose: category, environment, sediment, tier, resources, rarity, market, guilds or alliances.
  • Guild and alliance territories are made of the plots of members who proved they own their wallet.
